Thinking Green - Global Warming and Climate Change

The climate crisis is not a future problem – it is already here. In this engaging and thought-provoking lecture, we examine how climate change is affecting our world today, why its impacts are expected to grow, and how politics and economic interests shape the global response. By the end of the session, participants will gain a clear understanding of the climate crisis, global warming, and the challenges that lie ahead. Sharon Wexler

Beyond the Screen: From the Weather Map to the News Desk

A journey of three decades behind the scenes of Israeli media. From the days when Channel 1 ruled the field to the world of current affairs today. From the first steps of a shy girl who landed as a TV meteorologist to the anchor she us today. The stories you didn't know from then and today, and also, who determines the media agenda - the news editors, or perhaps the government and the public? All these in a fascinating lecture by someone who has been breathing media for over thirty years. The host of "Sharon and Uri", the host of "Kan BaSviva" on Kan Reshet Bet, and the meteorologist five times a week, Sharon Wexler.

Sharon Wexler explains: Why is the temperature gauge in a car unreliable?

Don't rely on your car's temperature gauge, not only is it unreliable, in the summer it's downright misleading. Most vehicles have a sensor called a thermistor installed, the location of the thermistor (in most vehicles - in the front grill) is too close to the asphalt and not far enough from the engine, which also emits quite a bit of heat. It can easily distort the component's temperature display. When measuring the temperature while standing in traffic or on a hot road, the reading may be up to ten degrees above the actual temperature.
